Mackey grew up in Southern California — the hot rod mecca of the world. At 16 he went to work in automotive custom shops, learning the craft from the ground up. By 23, a lifelong passion for building and creating had become his life's work — and he has never looked back.

What kind of questions can I ask Mackey on a call?

Anything related to hot rods, classics, customs, and muscle cars. Technical problems, buying and selling advice, price points, restoration planning, paint, fabrication, mechanical issues — if it involves a classic car, it's fair game.

I'm not sure which consultation is right for me.

Every consultation is about getting you unstuck and moving your project forward. If you're not sure where to start, begin with The Pit Stop — 15 minutes with Mackey is enough to point you in the right direction. From there, if you need Mackey to see the car on camera, go Under the Hood. If you want a full day of hands-on access at the shop, book The Full Build.

Does Mackey work on cars outside of Huntington Beach?

Mackey's shop is in Huntington Beach, CA. Phone and video consultations are available to clients worldwide. On-site visits outside of Huntington Beach may be available — this can be discussed on a Pit Stop call. The Full Build day is in-person at the shop.

Can Mackey partner with me on a build or purchase?

Mackey does not partner on builds or purchases. Consultations are advisory — Mackey gives you his expert knowledge and you make the call.
